KataElectronics Company is a familyowned enterprise which has specialized in the field of radiation protection, PCbased monitoring applications and civil defence. The company was established in 1986, after Chernobyl nuclear accident. In the beginning it operated in Polvijärvi which is the home domicile of company founders Mr. Kauko Tanskanen and Mrs. Pipsa Tanskanen. Later operations were moved to Ylämylly which is located about ten kilometers west from Joensuu. Managing Director Kauko Tanskanen worked earlier in STUK The Finnish Centre for Radiation and Nuclear Safety developing radiation measurement systems. Our clients consist of The Ministry of Interior, STUK, fire & rescue service, nuclear industry, communes, hospitals, universities and other educational establishments, The Finnish National Rescue College, real estate companies, other companies and private persons.
