The company was formed in the 1970s by Bryan Cutforth and Ron Herrick, both glassblowers of considerable skill and experience which originally traded under the name of Cutforth & Herrick. The firm quickly established itself a reputation for quality, and is now supplying many leading Laboratory Suppliers in Europe. In 1990 a retirement sale was negotiated between Bryan Cutforth and Frank Flaig resulting in a change of ownership. The Flaig family s associations with scientific laboratory glassblowing in England date back to 1880 when W. G. Flaig arrived from Germany, with the family being involved in many innovations most notably manufacture of interchangeable glass joints as early as 1915.
